You get those benefits for being bad as well... Thieves' Landing sells you things cheaper and buy your stuff for more. Plus once your desperado they don't report crimes much... they too afraid to

It says "Cheating - $25" yet I never get bounty when I cheat and the guys duel me? Or is this some other cheating?

I found that the safest place for a shootout in blackwater is the police station. One door, no windows, and a counter to cover behind. kinda funny that the safest places to shoot the law is their HQ..

havent seen this on here so ill say it, in multi player a great place to raise your bounty for the outlaw challenges is Rathskeller fork. you can get on top of the 2 buildings and if you use the one by the pig pen the lawmen only come in the gate on that side, shoot till ur happy then stay ducked down and they will shoot but they cant see you and  after a minute they stop, your wanted level goes away leaving the bounty.. or stand up, get killed and repeat.

Question: Sometimes, when I get killed by the law, I somehow end up in jail instead of dying. Is there any way of getting my bounty AND money back after this happens, or am I just screwed? I know I can get any unpaid bounty back by committing a crime, but that isn't good enough.

My first time playing the game; I was held up in the general store of MacFarlanes Ranch. I killed WAY more than 6 lawmen, then again, they were coming from outside of town almost constantly just endless waves of the law coming at me behind that little counter. Is that a glitch or does it have something to do with location?

I finally put on my bandana and took a run at the trophy you get for using a pardon letter to clear a $5000 bounty. It was good fun to really let it rip.

By that time, my fame/honor had reached such a level that the only way I could get in trouble with the law was by murdering somebody. Which means, really, the game forced me to go on horrible killing sprees there. Very reminiscent of my old favorite GTA pastime of scouting good places to have shootouts with the cops.

I have to say, Blackwater is a great place for padding the bounty on your head. You can climb a fire escape to gain the high ground advantage, and all the roofs are connected so you can run up and down a whole row of buildings as you fight the cops (there's even one spot where there's a gap between buildings and you can actually clear it by jumping, which was bad-ass). Or you can camp out by the fire escape, throwing fire bottles at the cops whenever they come up. But the saloon was actually the best place to hole up for a long shootout. All the entrances are in one room so they can't really sneak up on you, and you can mow them down as they come upstairs to your bedroom (interestingly, they don't appear to let you save the game in your bedroom when a living cop is in the room with you).

I found this alley in Blackwater with 2 ways to enter it, just running in and a little fence you can jump to get in the alley. The lawmen don't jump the fence though, they just funnel into the alley way, making for some great target practice.

Where does everyone prefer to have a bounty on them?
I've almost made it to $10,000 in the States.

Thieves landing and beechers hope are brill! Where else can you go where the law doesn't apply?

I had a bit more than 40.000, but I overwrited this save file by accident so all my work was gone... Now, I'll try to get my bounty again and increasing it as high as I can.

Bounty >$ 150 3-4 person posse
Bounty >$1700 6 person posse (+1 dog)
Bounty >$3700 8 person posse (+2 dogs)
Bounty >$5000 10 person posse (+3 dogs)
Bounty >$7000 12 person posse (+4 dogs)

If not, then does anyone know how it works?
