I think its a great idea to put it under their profile. At a medium sized board like this it works great. over at IGN we tried it on our new board system, but with the thousands of vesti users, we had guys that went through and like whored and had hundreds of likes in the first day, and ruined the point. So we had to remove the like count from such an accessible view so people didn't care so much about their counts.
here tho, it works great. I think its a great way to help promote positive posting and contribution. One thing I think would help though is if people could view what posts of theirs was liked from their profile. it shows how many likes there are, but there seems to be (I could be missing it) no way to find the posts that were liked. IMO people should know what posts of theirs was like, especially new posters, so they can model their posting habits a little better in accordance with board etiquette.
