Hey guys, I created this topic because I was reading an article about the next RDR and where it should be set. Anyway, it got me thinking and I reckon the best place for the next RDR would be Australia.
The setting would be absolutely perfect, I would have it set in Australia during the Gold Rush era which is about 1850s. The Gold Rush era of Australia was a time of great wealth and prosperity, Melbournes population went from 90 thousand in 1850 to 570 thousand in 1859.

Not only that but the 1850s are considered the "heyday" of the Bushrangers. A notorious version of the British highwayman, except much more distinct in character. Many of them would rob the gold diggers of their fortunes, fight skirmishes with the police, etc. It is believed there were up to 2000 Bushrangers at any one time roaming the unique Australian countryside, many of them formed gangs and fought bitter rival "wars".

The map would be great because you could have Melbourne in the southern part which is a very beautiful city with lots of Victorian architecture, and stone buildings etc. While in the central east part you could have Sydney that has its magnificent harbour with the city being layed out similiar to London with dark alleyways, and sprawling messy roads,etc.
While in the nothern most part of the map could be Brisbane, which during the 1850s was very undeveloped, so it would be a large town of shabby wooden buildings built across the Brisbane river.
Then in the centre of the map could be small villages built around the gold digging areas. Out to the west would be the dusty red outback. But in between each of the cities and in the central map area would be the unique Australian landscape.
The animals you could hunt would change too, there would still be the traditional rabbits and foxes (as they were introduced pests), but there would be new animals to hunt like kangaroos, koalas, dingos, echidnas, crocodiles, wallaby's, bilby's, wombats, Tasmanian devils, frill-neck lizards, emus, potoroos, bandicoots, kookaburras, and MANY more. And as a secret myth maybe they could add the now extinct Tasmanian Tiger, it died out in the 1940s I think, but during the 1850s they were still around.

The Gold Rush era was such an exciting, and vibrant time, and thats why I think it should be the next RDR setting. Tell me what you guys think?

Yeah, I saw. Lets not get off-topic. Coming to the theory of next RDR, we can expect Australia, but Rockstar will never migrate their thoughts away from America.

i want another RDR game, maybe its impossible for a sequal has redemption is at the end of the wild west and cowboys so i thought and kinda hoping that rockstar when they have got max payne and GTA5 out the way they remake red dead revolver or at least do a story before RD revolver or after it set a few years before redemption story.

As much as I hate to typecast, 'Westerns' imply America. I'd love a game to be set in Scotland, like, a free roam game, but it's never going to be the next red dead. Great Westerns are all America/Mexico. Why Not Australia?
The accent. It's not threatening. Lol, only joking... Or am I? It's all about sales, and if something as simple as the- you know? You can all think of reason's why not to set it in Australia.

I'll bet Australia is a good setting for an adventure game. But Down Under can't be the Wild West. Maybe the Wild Down Under

I would play a "wild south" game set in Australia. You could play an Irish transportee sent to Oz/Van Diemen's Land. There's potential.

Red Dead is suppost to take place in the Wild West. That is located in America buddy boy. The word 'west' is in the name for a reason.

But Scotland is not a unique location for RDR, it doesn't feel wild and frontier-like, Australia during the 1850s was very similiar to the Wild West during that time. It has everything the Wild West has except it is much more unique, with unique landscapes, unique wildlife, and unique culture.

Within the southern reaches of Australia, the Aborigines had already been wiped out by disease by the time settlers began arriving.

No way should the next red dead be anywhere other than america in the wild west down in Texas Mexico and branching up into some of california it just needs to be set in the states that where very wild and unsettled in the old western days if you think about all the best old western movies they don't take place in australia but Mexico and Texas and so on just my opinion

The Australian frontier was just as wild as the American one, its just that very few movies have been made about it. While the American setting was awesome, I don't feel they could improve any more than the last RDR which was near perfect. Setting it in Australia would not only take it back much earlier to a time of the Gold Rush, but it would also give it something fresh, everything would change from the landscape to the animals and even the cities/towns.

in the 1800's england was in the victorian times, we had the queen victoria on the throne and jack the ripper running riot murdering folk and electric was not around and it was a time of industrial revolution in a hugh shift changed in the population, so it was not all that dissimular from across the atlantic in america and we was also at war with france.

so it would be a good project to do next somewhere down the line in say a few years maybe it would be good for them to do a different era like the victorian times with a jack the ripper story playing in thebackgound.

and maybe a rockstar game set in medieval times
