yes i would suggest working your way south and west of mcfarlanes ranch to warthington ranch and then west of warthingtons. have fun killing anything that moves until rabbits spawn. the way the game works there is no guaranteed a certain animal will always be there spot. during a challenge the species you want seems damn hard to find. my first time playing those rabbits took a very very long time to kill all that were required. im talking like 3 actual days of playing. i believe i unlocked mexico and killed the last rabbit there.

Is there any way of checking which animals you have killed/not killed for the Unnatural Selection achievement?

Is it in stats and I just missed it?

In multiplayer, if you are trying to get the master shooter challenge where you have to kill 3 different wild animal types within 10 seconds, the best place to do this is the entrance to tall trees near to Bear Claw camp.  

You'll find loads of animals there from wolves, to bears, deer, boar, cougars, birds, bighorns and elks etc.

Well I'm stuck at 99.7% complete and one of the last trophies that I need is Unatural Selection...
I have checked my List of killed and skinned animals and it reads like this:
Armadillos
Bears
Beavers
Big Horns
Boars
Bobcats
Bucks
Buffalo
Chickens
Cougars
Coyotes
Cows
Crows
Dear
Dogs
Eagles
Elk
Foxes
Goats
Hawks
Horses
Mules

Pig

Currently working on the same achievement and have drawn up a list, only thing you've seemed to miss are the seagulls found in Blackwater near the docks, I think.
