Great thread and all awesome ideas. I think the best idea would be to hold off at least 5 years for another consol. I don't see anything wrong with waiting if they can make it as great again but with a much more powerful system to expand on what made RDR fans love it so much.

Choice of hardcore mode (shouldn't be forced, maybe even have to beat it first to unlock as this would get players familiar with world w/o making difficulty too high for new fans). This would include water/food needs, no horse respawns and no quick saves to pass 6 hours unless area is "safe" like in Oblivion. Safe would involve sleeping at a campsite only if there are others there or if you lock/barricade yourself in one of the random shacks. Otherwise campsites would only allow you to cook some food and drink some water & time would progress as normal.

-Cowboys & Indians sorry native americans..... Make their lands so hostile and difficult that you wouldn't dare venture into them unless the story wants you to or you are really really good! Like a 100gs achievement for something on tribal lands before you are supposed to be- call it "dances with wolves" :p

Not much of  a list but you guys touched on most of the stuff already and the game is pretty close to perfect as it is IMO

-trainable dogs in both single and multiplayer to track down animals and/or attack them for profit. and who wouldnt like a little companionship?
-more animals, such as badgers, moose, ect ect
-i would prefer it if the bears and cougars were not located in one area (ie.bear claw camp) and were dispersed more through out the map.
-A bigger map
-I've read this and really agree on it, a story line that you choose yourself, so not all endings are the same. (that handbook would be one hell of one.)
-Bows and arrows <3
-and customizable (that a word?) horses as well as characters.

The only thing I would want is when it's raining, the ability to actually see. I can't see anything if it's raining, especially if it's raining at night.

- Why does everyone want to turn RDR into Fallout? Seriously. You have a choice between making Gang hideouts massive, fighting epic battles... And you choose to eat? Believe me- the one thing I don't want to do in life is stop to eat, so why the feck do you want it in fake life?
- I think that scars would be awesome, but like, take medicine and they heal.
- Quicker Dead-Eye reload.
- choose a name out of a massive list for a name... For your horse.
- Be able to make trophies from what you hunt.
- More animals (BUT NOT TO EAT! >.<)
- Be able to mix and match clothes you've stolen.
- More of a loot than just going through there pockets. Maybe, if you go through there pockets, you don't loose any honor, if you do something like steal there hat, then no honor loss, if you strip the dead NPC down and piss on his corpse, stealing his clothes, then yeah... Loss of honor.
- More story missions, or even better, DLC story updates. Like have the original story line, then download a pack that gives you some extra costumes, and some more story.
- Be able to customize clothing, like mix and match the costumes you unlock, but, also have like set costumes.

I think that in Single Player the health should not be regenerative.  In multiplayer it makes sense but the single player version of this game is way way way too easy.

That's what makes the game magical, there's time to spare, because you don't have shit to do.
It makes sense to regenerate in Single Player because you're more likely to be riddled with bullets.

A more interactive story, like if you kill somebody important to the story, the story changes.
Being able to form posses/gangs in singleplayer and perform large crimes like stealing a train, or burning down a town.
Being able to do more with the lasso. Like hogtieing somebody, taking them into the wilderness and hang them.

That's exactly why it doesn't make sense.  I can play the game through on hardcore without dying a single time in combat.  There is absolutely no challenge.  All you have to do is duck down for 2 seconds and you're all better.  I know that regenerative health is the only thing that could make sense in this multiplayer but it hurts the single player for me.

It was in the newspapers of 1914. The old west is practically dead when older Jack appears, so he could at least put his developing gunslinger skills to good use in a war.

WW1 happened in 1914–18, RDR takes place in the year 1911. so WW1 happened during the end of the west.

well i disagree with the less...i say more wilderness, and more towns, some small, some larger.

on topic:  the thing that pissed me off the most is how bears and cougars hunt in packs of 20...wolves in packs of 50 or more.   :juggle:
so i'd like to see more realistic spawning of animals and not make everything so aggressive.  i'd like to observe some of the animals without having to kill them first.
oh and as someone else said fishing and having to eat.  and like GTA san andreas if you eat too much your character gets fat... to little he gets way skinny....
oh, and i'd like to see an Assassins Creed style of upgradable town that your money goes towards.  i got over 15,000 and aint got sh*t to spend it on.

edit:  oh and i just remembered... you should be forced to pick which weapons you're taking with you before head out.  so basically you cant have access to every single weapon in creation.  one on horse, one on back (optional) and one on holster.  i should be able to pick whether i want to go out with only my pistol (like in the first few cutscenes)

More of a "exploring" way to find your way around the map. You have a general outline of what the map is like like roads and terrain and stuff and major towns but little places are hidden. Like you could go on multiplayer and be like "I found a little shack called old Baccus Place". I dunno.
