FINALLY, a my character shows up, *press select to look at whos in my lobby* *there is only one guy (Level 8 guy with 0 legend) *Gets a Sawed-Off shotgun to shoot my head IRL* =_________________________=
What the fuck is wrong with my connection? Does anyone of you kind cowboys know why I am experiencing this? :( I've always had this "finding free roam"  lobby connection problem and not being able to join my friends games. Can you guys please help me?

Try emptying your xbox/ps3 space
Delete some crap off the memory
and then restart,
If it doesnt work,
Email Rockstar, and im sure they might help

You have a closed NAT type. I had this for my first two months playing and it was total crap. There's different ways to open it depending on what router you have.

A friend and I have the same problem.
We have many of the same people on our friends list (PS3).
I can join any of their games any time.
He can join any of their games any time.

He can't join my games.
I can't join his games.

So we get the bright idea to have a mutual friend start a game. I join no prob. When he joins it kicks him within 5 seconds and says it's because of connection issues with other players.

Now I get the idea to back out of the mutual friends game and let my friend join first. He joins in no Problem. When I join it kicks me within 5 seconds and says it because of connection issues with other players.

What the hell?

I had this issue non-stop a little while back. I ended up having a computer savy friend come over and rig up my NAT settings on my router and haven't had the problem since

Main issue, your playing on Microsnot Xfail, theres your problem. Ive had zero problems since day 1 on my PS3 and still have no problems.

....other than slow laggy gameplay.  Anytime Im at friends places that have a ps3, its a horrible laggy experience that makes me glad I own an XBOX. I guess thats what you get for free

I am completely computer savvy and have checked and rechecked my settings.  Never had a single problem until this mine cart crap in McFarlane's Ranch....now I'm constantly having problems of some type.  I was really looking forward to the new RDR but I don't think I am going to buy it now....after all the problems I've had with this version it's just not worth it...

definitely has something to do with strict nat settings..to fix requires editing your internet connections properties..

Disable UPnP under network settings and try again. I have NAT 2 but ever since I disabled UPnP on the PS3 I never got the message again. Very odd, but maybe worth a try?

I'm having the same problem.  Yes, my NAT type is open, and no I don't have ANY trouble in any other games.
