Too frightening!
« on: October 31, 2010, 04:51:50 pm »
I find at times in this game, when it's dark/stormy, that I get frightened and want to stop. The music is a bit creepy and the atmosphere just makes me uneasy. lol

I know this sounds lame and I know I'll get over it because when I first started RDR I was randomly attacked by animals and so was initially frightened of the dark. Then I got used to that.

I just hope I can get used to this soon!

Spoiler for Hiden:
The only good thing I can see is the undead bears seem slower and easier to kill.

Yeah, I too got the creeps sometimes the first couple of days, but is's sadly not like that anymore. The only reasons I use fast-travelling now is to save time :(

It's creepy but that's what makes it fun for me...which is ironic because I can play something like this or God of War, but can't seem to make it through the eerier parts of the Tomb Raider games :-/

I love horror and scary stuff, and I do have to say that I'm really enjoying UN. But frightening? Only jumped once so far and that was in Tall Trees when a bear came from behind me and swatted me! Now Dead Space...that game had me on edge!

*Edit*

Yay! 1st post! Lol

I nearly shat on my pants when i heard that scream from behind the grave and saw 3 female bolters running towards me on all their fours and screaming like a mofo banshee. Also on the last mission i jumped a bit when a bruiser came around the corner and charging

Well one time i stayed in Blackwater and when i woke up the town was overrun by zombies! So I'm like looking out the windows climbing up on the roof trying to find a way out. It was so creepy being trapped in that room with hungry zombies down in the alley. R* did aafantastic job

The only time i got scared was in tumbleweed mansion.

There i was checking for any secrets, conspiracy stuff and so i went around shooting all of the lights (just to make it more creepier) so i went around the house once then i look to the left and see a friggin zombie right next to me.
just imagine an abandoned mansion at night, no lights and dead silent, then you see a zombie right next to you. i mean wtf?

There have been a few parts where I've felt a bit un nerved, but frightening? No way.

Also the game feels less scary now....
Spoiler for Hiden:
I'm playing as zombie John. Infact I find it hilarious opening a can of whoop ass on the undead being undead myself.

Yes, I'm 37 years old and some parts of the game give me goose bumps, I have acutally had to pause the same alot and get my skin back. Saturday morning around 6AM I was playing and the wife opened the door to ask me if I had the coffee pot on, I nearly Crapped myself. I am not ashamed I love Zombie movies and theis game DLC was awesome, Thanks Rock*,

Same here, this game is more intense than some of the FPS' I play...there's no strolling in the park always on my toes. I can't play non-stop for more than a few hrs...

I actually had a bit of a headache after playing it for the first hour yesterday, I was that into it. It's pretty intense but I'm sure that feeling will die down sooner or later, pun not intended. ;)

I actually quite like it too! I can watch horror films with no real sense of involvement, and so they don't scare me. Sometimes they make me jump when they use the cheap trick of a shock camera angle and loud noise or scream.

But this is an involving game, and I'm still a bit scared (and I hope that, as others say, it lasts).

Spoiler for Hiden:
I did the first Missing Souls mission and ran into the small canyon packed with zombies. This was initially scary but then I just kept on going, on the back of the fiery horse I'd tamed at Hennigan's Stead. Still, I knew enough not to take the woman I rescued back that way--rather, I crossed open country to avoid the zombie trap!

I thought the regular RDR was the best game I ever played, and it still is. Now it's even better with the Undead Nightmare! lol

Game's given me jumps, but it's definitely not creepy to me.  You're faster, more maneuverable, have a horse, tons of weaponry, slow motion, and most likely auto-aim on.  Use it.  There's no reason to have any fear.  I don't think some of you have ever played a scary game if this gets to ya. :laugh2:

Rockstar still gets an A though, it's definitely fit for Halloween.

Haven't played it yet, I did get it, but my boyfriend got PO'd at our xbox and hit it, so it toppled over while the game was on, sadly it didn't make it lol.
So I'm desperately trying to get a new copy before Halloween lol.
Anyway, I'm a bit of a woos when it comes to "horror" stuff. I love all things morbid and creepy, yet I've definitely got my mom's inability to handle horror movies/games/etc haha xD
I'm looking forward to it nonetheless. Especially after some of the stuff I've read on the forum :)
