Spoiler

Yeah I think how he dies in the end might play a role in this dlc. He'll probably be a zombie. Online you will also probably be able to play as zombies.

How it's gonna play out:

1.MacDougal and Dickens meet.

2. They get high on cocaine.

3.The Elixr and Coke mix.

4.Sold.

5.Zombies.

6. More variations of zom-zombs.

7. Zombies can be constantly seen snorting coke, for power. John must shoot the coke supplies to weaken them.

Floppay I am not sure, but your Idéa is very very very Plausible!

Doubt it. That would be a massive spoiler for people who haven't finished the game yet.

I guess I will share my theory for how the Undead Nightmare story will be explained.

It will contain MASSIVE ENDGAME SPOILERS

First off, the description for the Undead Nightmare pack, as seen on the RDR Official Site:

Unleashed upon the world of Red Dead Redemption, the Undead Nightmare Pack will feature an entirely new mostly single-player campaign that follows John Marston as he tries to find a cure for the highly infectious zombie plague that has spread across the frontier.

Now, like a lot of people, at first I was kind of worried that this would tarnish the integrity of the Red Dead Redemption universe. But then I saw this on the most recent "Asked and Answered" on the Rockstar Newswire:

We love the world of Red Dead Redemption and wouldn’t do anything to sully it. While we respect your doubts, we ask you to trust us – when you play the game, you will understand what we have done and, we hope, why.

They didn't just outright say "it's set in an alternate universe", they seem to have some sort of secret they're holding about it. Now I thought about it for a bit, and came up with this.

What if after John's death, and after Jack gets revenge on Edgar Ross, he actually DOES become a writer. And what if "Undead Nightmare" is his first novel? He writes a fictional story , with the protagonist being John.

What do you guys think?

Very interesting idea. I totally forgot Jack wanted to become a writer. This sounds quite likely when you take a long, hard think about it.

Haha. Really doubt it. There aren't many payable DLC where you need to complete the game in order to play them. I really can't think of one.

Not sure if someone has said this with all the undead dlc threads here BUT..... I just thought of an amazing thing rockstar could do with the zombies if they make it to multi. Every time a real player or NPC is killed they spawn into a zombie. Now if you're a real player online of course you respawn into your old self again and continue playing, but your former corpse gets up and starts walking. NPC's would just get up and start walking within a few moments.

What would be cool is, depending on the room your in and how many people are playing, doing hide out's, killing each other, would pretty much control the amount of zombie activity. So if it's a room with like 20 players doing a lot of killing you'd get a lot of zombies. Of course they'd have to already have some random packs of zombies in there but I don't know- sounds like a good idea.... :)

I didn't check the forum BUT I saw this on the comments for the 'Liars and Cheats Release' on the official site. The following is from R*:

Quote
Regarding Landon – well there is bad news and good news... the bad news is that he isn’t in this set of playable characters from the Liars and Cheats Pack. The good news is you have not seen the last of him. Let’s just say he’s been rather busy dealing with some surprising phenomena. More info soon.

Dunno if ye saw it, like.

Malaclypse the Younger: Everything is true.
Greater Poop: Even false things?
Malaclypse the Younger: Even false things are true.
Greater Poop: How can that be?
Malaclypse the Younger: I don\'t know man, I didn\'t do it.

I was just thinking about the dream/nightmare theory last night. At first I thought it sounded plausible, but thinking about it with Ricketts apparently taking part in the story having him appear all of a sudden in John's dream/nightmare wouldn't make much sense as the two don't meet until Mexico.

Unless the dream/nightmare takes place at some point when John meets Ricketts however. It would be a massive loop hole if Ricketts appeared in his dream/nightmare before they met.

Reading Floppay's theory the more it makes the most sense.

Spoiler for Hiden:
Doesn't Ricketts help train Jack in the time time after John's death, and his own? So Jack is well aware of Ricketts.

Maybe Jack writing a horror novel might be a way of honouring John, and Ricketts.

I think they should also make it so you have to shoot the zombies in the head or else they will not die. 8-)

This.

I seriously hope it's going to be this way.

Or just shoot them so much they start falling apart.
